The Position

The Library & Customer Service Officer will work with the customer-facing teams and undertake a range of duties, as required on the day to support the team and work location. Examples of allocated tasks are outlined below:

  • Involvement in planning and delivering library programs and events; and contribution to the maintenance of library collections
  • Facilitate customer enquiries and/or complaints management via reception or phone contact and work in conjunction with other Council Departments to coordinate information requests
  • Support the team in setting up and running various local Council events

The role may require work to be undertaken outside of normal work hours and weekends, on occasion. You must also be able to drive and present for work at locations across the Cassowary Coast.

About You

You will take pride in your work and enjoy working in a team environment. You will have completed a year 12 certificate or have gained equivalent knowledge through work experience.

Demonstrated excellence in presentation; interactive communication; and customer service skills. Have competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications and a proven ability to learn new technologies.

Relevant experience in customer service and/or libraries will be highly regarded.
